The Christian Scholarship Fund of Arizona is a registered nonprofit organization as defined by the United States Internal Revenue Code section 501(c).

501(c)(3) exemptions apply to corporations, and any community chest, fund, or foundation, organized and operated exclusively for religious, educational, and/or charitable purposes. Many foundations and corporate matching programs do not grant funds to a charity without such status.

Arizona School Tuition Organization

The Christian Scholarship Fund of Arizona also a registered School Tuition Organization as defined by the Arizona Department of Revenue.

A tuition tax credit is similar to most other familiar tax credits. Certain states allow individuals and/or businesses to deduct a certain amount of their income taxes to donate to education. Depending on the program, these donations can either go to a public school or to a School Tuition Organization (STO), or both. The donations that go to School Tuition Organizations are used by the STO to create scholarships that are then given to students. These programs currently exist in Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island.

Arizona has probably the most well known and fastest growing tax credit program. In the Arizona School Tuition Organization Tax Credit program individuals can deduct up to $1,459 and married filing joint returns can deduct up to $2,910 for 2024.  Individuals can deduct up to $1,535 and married filing joint returns can deduct up to $3,062 for 2024.
